About this project
Newsy App is a custom product designed, developed, tested and deployed by our team, with the source code and accounts handed over to the client.
A second news application, built as its own product rather than a re-skin. Two apps in one category is a useful test of a delivery approach: the parts worth reusing are the infrastructure, and the parts worth rebuilding are everything the reader actually sees.
What a build like this covers
- Independent content model and category structure
- Reader experience designed for this audience rather than inherited from the previous build
- Offline caching and bookmark handling
- Push notifications for followed topics
- Search and archive browsing
What we watch for in news work
Reusing the fetching, caching and notification layers is sensible. Reusing the reading experience is not. That is the product, and it is where the two apps should differ most.
Stack
We build news products in Flutter and native Android and iOS on the client, with Node.js and NestJS services behind them, TypeORM over PostgreSQL or MySQL where the data is relational, MongoDB where it is not, and Firebase for authentication, push and analytics. Web panels are React. The choice follows the product. We do not start from a template and bend the requirements to fit it.
How we work
Every project starts with a written scope and screen list, moves through design and iterative development with regular demos, and ends with testing on real low-end devices before release. Clients own their code, repositories and store accounts. Where it adds genuine value, we integrate AI features (assistants, document extraction, recommendations) rather than bolting them on for show.
